Weld Together Welcome Home Kits

Starting anew isn’t easy, we know. Even basic needs can sometimes be overwhelming to obtain, and navigating this new pandemic world can be frustrating, scary, and confusing. Weld Together was created to help alleviate some of these concerns. If you’ve recently come home from incarceration, a Weld Together Welcome Home kit is waiting for you.

Your kit was created with you in mind and contains some basic necessities to help you get started and on the route to success. All items are NEW, purchased just for you. Your package contains hygiene items, clothing, and household goods. We know that it isn’t everything that you need, but we hope it will help get you started.

Your Welcome Home Kit will be available for pick up at the Weld office every Thursday and Friday from 11:00am till 3:00pm. Our address is 1426 South Jackson Street, near Seattle’s International District.

We will be following social distancing rules outside and in the building with our staff as well as with all of you. Questions? Call 206-939-7055 and ask for Jason.

Partner Coalitions

Department of Corrections began to early release inmates out of coronavirus concerns in mid-April. Weld Seattle is linking arms (at an acceptable social distance) with DOC and a family of other justice focused non-profits to give these folks a safe Welcome Home into the COVID19 world in which we now live.

Formerly incarcerated individuals will receive a “Welcome Home” kit filled with new hygiene items, clothing, and household goods out of Weld’s soon to be Reentry Resource Center. In addition, individuals will have the opportunity to be connected with services including but not limited to food assistance, housing, legal resources, and employment opportunities like orientation into our Weld Works Employment Program.

If your group or organization is working with people returning home from prison, Weld would like to work with you to make a larger impact on the newly released people.

Please contact us if you have services to provide or new items to contribute to Welcome Home kits.

You can help!

There are several ways to get involved.

Every Monday and Tuesday from from 11:00am to 3:00pm, Weld Together will be accepting donations of NEW packaged hygiene items, clothing, and household goods at our offices located at 1426 S Jackson Street. Only new items will be accepted, and in order to keep everyone safe, curb side drop off is required.

Don’t want to leave home? We understand. You can also support these efforts from the comfort of your own sofa. There are two ways to do just that.

As always, we are so thankful for your support of and belief in this crucial work. We couldn’t do this without you.

Thank you! And stay safe. We will get through this together.
